Dr. Elizabeth Sisley is an independent software consultant with a focus on Enterprise Architecture and Cyber-Physical Systems. Elizabeth has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, where her dissertation is on designing for graceful degradation, and her Master’s focused on Artificial Intelligence. Since 2009 she has been a member of the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (now SEPApower.org), with a focus on the Smart Grid Architecture Committee (SGAC) and the Smart Grid Cybersecurity Committee (SGCC).
After 25+ years in industry spanning military software, R&D, commercial software, and information technology, Elizabeth is interested in applying her expertise to address global warming. A prominent application is the Smart Grid, and she is involved in the National Institute of Technology (NIST), Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP, now SEPA) and Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) efforts.
Elizabeth has 6 software patents on Field Service assignment and scheduling, and was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Minnesota for over 10 years. She originated the Software/Systems Architecture course in the Master’s in Software Engineering program.
Calm Sunrise is a Founding Member of the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP 2.0 @ sgip.org), and Elizabeth was a member of SGIP 1.0. As of 2017, SGIP is now a part of the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA @ sepapower.org).
